The PeertoPlay Story
Expanding Children’s Social Journey
Hi, I am Trisha,
As a first-generation immigrant and a working mom, I struggled to ensure that my son receives adequate, enriching, and varied social interactions. Having been a globe-trotter myself, I struggled adjusting to new moves, new cultures, and fitting into new networks.
The concept of structured playdates was unknown to me.
When my son turned three and started playschool, I quickly learned that many bonds were formed beyond routine interactions. I was expected to cultivate relationships, be on top of setting interactions, and be accepted in the network. Unfortunately, I did not have time to check all the boxes.
I realized many parents who were balancing competing priorities were similarly challenged. Children in their early years rely heavily on their parents’ decisions about socialization choices. Sometimes, as parents, we miss the boat when assessing our children’s peer network and quality of social interactions and considering their choices or inclination towards varying interests.
Lack of a supportive peer network or misaligned engagements leads to a feeling of alienation and incompetence in children causing anxiety, behavioral and confidence issues.
I tried to find a matching peer or group for my child, as he fought depression and anxiety but struggled to expand beyond our known network and was left with FOMO.
This is why PeertoPlay was born.
I created PeertoPlay as a one-stop service for every parent to enable meaningful social interactions and experiences for their children customized to their needs.
Our mission is to expand our childrens’ world of playdates and experiences.
PeertoPlay offers parents a wide range of options to foster meaningful interactions tailored to their child’s interests, hobbies, and personalities. By connecting children with broader communities, extracurriculars, events that align with their changing interests, PeertoPlay enriches their experiences, helping to build inclusiveness, confidence, and versatility.
